Final Goodbye,

Contributed by brokenwings on Saturday, 13th August 2005 @ 04:13:18 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I thought I was over you
till the first time he and I made love,
lying in his arms surrounded by his grace,
drifted to a dream and saw your face.

I woke up and looked at my new you,
and felt my heart melt,
he woke up to make sure i was alright,
and just held me ever so tight.

He knows the damage you have caused,
told me I'd never have to worry, he'd never hurt me
as i lay in his arms and think about you,
i realized the one thing that i must do.

so I"m writting you this goodbye,
please read it and never ask me why,
it hurts so much to love him, and miss you so i must do
this what hurts and say good bye to you.

so when I dream it will be of my life with him
not the past and memories of you
you destroyed my heart, with out a second thought
now i must let go, even though i miss you alot.

if you ever see me just hanging out,
turn your head and i'll look at my feet,
because he deserves all my love, not
the memories of a love the was left to rot.

dont' ask me for forgiveness, or to come back
because my heart can't take that smack
of you faking to care,
and missing the love I had to share.

my heart now belongs to him
I take it back from you
what other choice do I have,
when you've broken me so much,
that even the thought of your touch
makes me want to puke..

I like this poem a lot! It took me a long time to get over my exgirlfriend and all the feelings you describe in this writing I've felt too. Very nice writing...very powerful...
