Someone else...

Contributed by holderofthestone on Sunday, 14th August 2005 @ 01:10:25 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I sit alone and ask myself what could I have done different?
But I resound the same answer....
everything I did for you was all I had to offer
the best of what I am
and yet I see now
you didnt want "me"
everything I strived to achieve was for us
but you didnt want "us"
everytime I struggled was for you
but you didnt even want "you"
so I see now
you didnt want me
you didnt want us
you didnt want you
you only wanted him...
which leaves me with me...
alone...

I have always been happy with who I am,
but I have never
wanted to be
someone else
so much....
just to know your love...

This is strongly written. I've felt the pain of giving all that I've got to someone and getting nothing in return. All we can do is forget and move on...knowing that it wasn't enough for them, but will be enough for someone else...someone who will appreciate the feelings we lay on the line.

At this rate I am going to go thru a box of kleenex. Oh my gosh, this is heartbreaking.

I want to say something positive and yet nothing is coming forth.

The flip of a coin and seeing something thru another's eyes--I think is very powerful.

Another great poem.

I know how you feel kind of (I have yet to be in a relationship of that type) I speak of this from the point of friendship which is a form of love all it's own. You have written a very good poem and I know it will take sometime for your heart to mend so that you can love again. Don't give up during that time and times of refreshing will come.

Okay so I'm posting another comment on here. I finally understand where you were coming from b/c I feel this way now also.........

What I can totally relate to are these lines

"I have always been happy with who I am,
but I have never
wanted to be
someone else
so much....
just to know your love..."
