Brat
Home schooled and noone her age A grand-daughter full of rage A song says; Why's everyone picking on me Bending backwards I search understanding trying to see Treating her special Always trying not to yell Each time she is over were as tense as can be Meaning Grandma and me Everything is at her hand T.V.chips,cookies soda whatever her command With love we try to help this child Over protected by a Mom meek and mild Riches understood she doesn't have Not the end of the world, but still sad Happiness is not found in material things This child is a big sixteen Manipulate She knows every angle to this present date Grandma told her please ask for soda "Got any donuts"? One thing after another Wasted time talking to her Mother This Brat child can do no wrong "Why's everyone picking on Me"; goes the song Pins and needles I hear and cringe "She's going to be staying again" Kids; neighbors in the yard all much younger than her She bossing them is what we hear You can stay, but you go home I tell you this girl can do no wrong At home she can stay up way past one Next day sleeping past noon and;yes one Offer to help Grandma or Grandpa with a little chore Forget it she's tired at any convenient hour A firetruck races down our street She wants to chase seeing people die in the heat NO ! you stay here I have to hollar She hides with our phone to call her Mother "Why's Grandpa and everybody pickng on Me" ! """"BRAT"""" "It's hard to love a little Rat"

Having read your poem Brat. I find a strange tingling in my right hand. I know one should never hit a child but somewhere some one has not been consequent. When a child hears the word NO it means NO there is no argument against this. It is a pity that no one took her in hand when she was small. I know what kind of adult she will turn out to be. Then one will hear I do not know where I went wrong. The child had everything that a child could wish for. The NO is definately missing regards from bernard2 |

It is one thing for her mother to put up with that, but it is nonsense for you too. If a child cannot follow the rules of anothers house and treat them with respect they don't need to visit. There have to be boundaries set for children or they are brats. It should be the mother that is disliked but sadly the child is. Try some tough love and refuse to let her come to your house until she learns some respect and manners. JMO

Oh la la Dennis - the Mother is to blame.
She had the duty to energetically and categorically to correct the child and not giving in to every whim like a wash cloth.
Poor child, the "Brat" will have hardly a future.
And could have become a fine human being.
The mother is to blame.
Sorry.
Excellent and depictive narrative.
Love and peace

Great poem. She should be glad she was not raised in my family. My mom's motto was: "A hard head leads to a soft behind" |
