The Sword Fight

The fight was in earnest, No quarter was given All the spoils to the winner
Thrust, lunge, parry and retreat
All for the favors of a woman Did anybody bother to ask, The wishes of the damsel in advance
Thrust, lunge, parry and retreat
Perhaps her preference would be you quit While there remains two from which to select Maybe the irony is for her to choose number three
Thrust, lunge, parry and retreat
But the fighters raged on Until one stuck a deadly thrust And the other swordsman crumpled in the dust
Thrust, lunge, parry and retreat
As to the price of the ladies charm She seduced many of them to stand disarmed The winning swordsman seemed the likely one
Yet it be the overseer if the fight she lost, Who collaborated as a conspirator, so she won The ultimate price, the life of the swordsman
So be selective regarding the cause you are fighting for The price may be a major sacrifice that puts you on the floor So deliberate, you may not want to sacrifice anymore

This was just brilliant. The words itself is mind blowing.
Perhaps her preference would be you quit
While there remains two from which to select
Maybe the irony is for her to choose number three
I love that line.

Well done!! I love the style you wrote this in, and you took an everyday topic, and finessed it into something creatively unique! You did a great job with this write, and indeed, we should all be cautious...Especially in this day and age, where it could easily lead to your death!
