Sugarcoating The Real Message Is So Overrated

Contributed by Bones on Wednesday, 17th August 2005 @ 09:30:07 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Laying down in a church
Laying the children to sleep
Drunken enraged men outside
They light a bottle on fire
And threw it through the window
And in an instant the church burnt down
These men walked away with only the smell of alcohol on their breath
Free of guilt, they left the crime scene
Can I ask what's wrong with this picture?

Innocence has burned down in this world
Because we're too high to see what we're doing
We're too blind with all this blocking our view
From the truth, from true reality

We're all sugarcoating the message
With metaphors that we've created
And for some reason we don't get the message
Only the ones who truly believe in what we say
Everyone else just looks past the message into the smaller things
We're all primitive bastards, insluting, as it may seem
It's true and we're all aware of this
Just no one admits to our stupidity
We're all just too stupid

Innocence has burned down in this world
Because we're too high to see what we're doing
We're too blind with all this blocking our view
From the truth, from true reality

I don't think it is drugs or alchohol that makes the world bad although these things are bad (alchohol when used too much) Selfishness is the great evil.

Your poem is very good and is very thought provoking.
You have a deep sense of reasoning and it comes through in your writing
