The Maple Tree

Contributed by gery_giggles on Thursday, 18th August 2005 @ 02:16:56 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

We sat under the maple tree
enjoying the shade, hiding from the sun
I was sixteen you were twenty
but somehow we were so perfect for each other.

The laughs we shard and memories we shared
still make me smile two years later,
we slowly grew as one under that maple tree
talking about future plans, dreams and how much
we cared from one anthor.

You'd lean over and kiss me,
sharing your heart all over again
those afternoons were perfect
it was just you and me
just being together
not caring about the world around us.

We would hide behind the maple tree
away from everyone else and have a little fun,
the kisses were innocent but we both knew what was to come.
The maple tree carries the memories of us together
holding them in the heart we carved around our names
waiting to release them when we return.

Baby, those days days under the maple tree
were wonderful, we had everything because
we had each other.
Everyday i hold your hand you bring me back
to that maple tree,
and when i look up at you i know that we'll
always have those memories
because we'll always love each other.

Under the maple tree we expressed our love
and under the maple tree it will always remain.
