Around The Innocent

And here we are gathered around the innocent.
never daring to believe what we instinctually know.
Knowledge leads us to roads untraveled but emotion trails are shallow.
Hold the hands of destiny and embrace what you justify as "the only".
We are different and similar, searching and never finding.
Where reality parts the waters of hope and helpless we are driven apart.
Separate here and so only hands can hold the bearings of time in tact above the formation of all our trust.
And disgusted i surrender you to a curent that i must fear.
For only in division is there recognition.
And when we embark on this journey, down two separate paths i know without a doubt that i will reconcile our loss.
The ends will unfurl an endless divinity and our eternity we''ll find each other.
Like messages carved in my flesh i breath your name as a prayer.
And without trust what have we but divided waters, shallow and unchartered by our own demise.
I''m letting you go now, if you drown i apologize.
My need for oxygen surpasses your existence again.
When the waters evaporate, there i stand, frail figure worn by time and love.
So recap, here we are gathered around the innocent.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
