Standing in the shadows
as tears fill their eyes
no one seems to notice
to hear them as they cry
Lost and lonely soldiers
in a battle to survive
sometimes it's not enough
just to be alive
As the world goes on around them
so blind and unaware
they often walk around them
as if they were not there
There's no one there to hold them
no loved ones gentle touch
no one ever told them
they're loved so very much
All but forgotten
as the years they pass them by
the world's moved on without them
and left them here to die
No one's there to lead them
and guide them on their way
no miracle awaits them
as they live from day to day
No future stands before them
it's as if they don't exsist
our society ignors them
they're just names upon a list
