You like to hit You like to bite You enjoy my screaming Through the night You like to say This is my due This is my price For loving you You're my father No matter what you do You can't change that I wish you could too. So pick me up To throw me down You'll never beat The defiance out. Because there's a life Outside our own I can almost smell The fresh grass grow Almost feel The warm sunshine Drying my tears And giving me light I've found a strength I didn't have before I've found my spirit And you can't have my soul I'm your daughter Your anger's in me too Fight fire with fire And I'll defeat you. Next time you hit me I'll only hit back With a knife in my pocket Is how I'll attack And in your last moments You'll look in my eyes And then you'll realize True evil never dies.

This is so touching for me personally as I am the father of three daughters. I do hope that your dad does recognise that something is not right in your relationship as you clearly can see. Not only that, but you are giving form to your feelings through the power of words. I do hope your situation improves over time. Good luck

When I was 16 I grabbed my foster Dad's hand in the air as it was about to strike me and said "I'm to big for you to be hitting."
He put his hand down and said "Your right" He never touched me again. I can relate so much to this piece. Hitting doesn't change ones mind.Understanding and talking it through usually is a preferred action. Good luck little one. |
