A Thousand Needles

Contributed by xlguesswho14xx on Saturday, 20th August 2005 @ 11:41:23 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

A thousand needles
hammering on the roof,
reverberating
within my empty heart,
piercing the very fabric
of my soul.
Unheard agonies
utterly expressed,
long retained tears
finally relinquished.

The water drips,
slipping from the roof in tiny rivulets,
silent and constant
exhausting my resolve,
mimicking the torment
sliding down my coarse cheeks.

While the torrent will eventually end,
the pain will endure

Very well written. I liked it. It had some power, subtle, yet flagrant there.

Good imagery. I love the concept at the ending, but maybe word it a little more subtle. Then again, maybe not... God bless
