SPLIT Torn in two, maybe even three, frantically gathering, so gently consoling A dislocated me. Thirsting recklessly for affection I'll refuse to drink, drowning in detestable need, Choosing not to swim, A desiring soul divided Insatiately craving the same intimacy that marred the child, crippled voice makes muted requests, Fearful of revile, An ambivalent wreck Mind screaming for explanation, heart violently demanding tears, cleansing hydration, Yet eyes are dry flesh is numb, A total dis-integration Insuppressible groaning peaks, hating this armor because breathing's become harder, Deflected fragility now just beyond reach A disembodied grief
