In a room so dark, thoughts manifest
Twisting and intertwining in its morbidness
In a struggle to find a source of light
And a mission to put the wrong things right
Quickly taking over, these thoughts of pain
I want to find that elusive solice again
I want to make you see what I see
But I can't let you see that side of me
I close my eyes only to see the pain inside
Coming like tumultuous waves on a fearsome tide
They sweep over me and change me forever
As I try to fight the storm I can't possibly weather
With you in mind, I try to find a way
To defeat these thoughts and make you stay
Try as I might, but inside, my thoughts interfere
Making themselves heard with every word and jeer
And I see in your eyes that I am losing you
My dark side is turning you away, as much as I try not to
You attempt to get inside my mind and try to comprehend
Only to be denied, because its whats inside that you can't mend
And with that, I turn my back and walk away
To prevent you from being lead further astray

| This is a hard poem to read because it describes why I left church almost 2 years ago. I am going back now and it is good to be reminded to not give up on the changes you want to make in life. |

That was just a great line and I can really
relate to it, it brought back a lot of painful
memories for me from a few years back. I
hope you don't actually feel like you described
in the poem because that is a very painful
place to be in, but if you do try not to hold
everything inside and write poems like these
to expunge the demons inside. Thanks for
sharing this I think I shall go read it again.

That is me. People trying to figure out whats wrong with me so they can fix it but it cant be fixed. Great write!!! |
