On Church

Some people see a church building
but they don''t see people inside
We miss God''s purpose and his meaning
because of words that don''t describe
Ecclesia is the church
to me it is family
I can not wait to see family again

I remember growing up
it was not said "that I love you"
hugs were scarce and love fleeting
doubts built up inside me
but when I found the place God led me
everyone shared love with me
we did many things together
many times through out the week

They taught me wisdom from the bible
that would take longer if alone
We spent holidays together
eating in each others homes
we trusted members with our children
because we knew each other very well
I came to see why God came to the earth

I died to sin like in the bible
I rose to a new live different
although I still am a sinner
God''s spirit lives with in
Family always reminds me
that I''m loved and needed
I am so glad to see family again

Ecclesia is the church
that is my word for family
it is not the one I grew with
it makes me much a better me
and when it''s time to go home
sometimes I do not want to leave
I can not wait to see family again.

"Ecclesia" is the greek translation for the word church. The new testament was written in greek originaly

Beautiful poem, loved how you described the church as your family, keep writing, keep all the faith. The-brokn-rose.

I too think the church is God's Church [His people, chosen ones FAMILY] not as a 'building' as such....
What a honest write written in truth and love,
I too feel happy knowing this and feel comfortable and safe knowing they are our family
