Alone in my room.
It's dark.
All the worries of the day
Return to haunt me
As I try to sleep.
Alone in your room.
It's dark.
You sleep peacefully
As if without any cares
In the world.
Alone in my room.
It's dark.
My hopes and fears
Run through my mind
Without any purpose.
Alone in your room.
It's dark.
You dream a dream
Full of happiness
And fulfilled plans.
Alone in my room.
It's light.
I haven't slept yet
For my thoughts still plague me
As the day begins.
Alone in your room.
It's light.
You wake as the sun
Pours through your window
And a new day begins.
Alone in my room.
I cry.
