Shadows linger of our separate yesterdays.. blurring with menace, our present light, casting false, the aura of other ancient colors between the bright, tenacious passion that binds us.. unbreakable now and for the unguessable future.
There are no more subtle ways I can speak to you- save in halting verse like now.. and begging your charity.
Often lost in a freedom of thought or more stranded, still with near rapture; this then, is my latter choice.
More remote than star from star, likewise are we sometimes within a byte or ram, each captive of days passed- stretching a silence once treasured beyond the faint felicity of touch,, a cold place between us no words can fill.
Hope and fear hover in our merest response- yet, however unknown our tomorrow, the truth remains:
love is by far more constant than lovers are.
Between uncertainity and dreams, persists the harrowing possibility of failure; 'tween hopeless tenderness and unutterable dread, the twisted knife of rational resignation to what neither of us will permit in the other remains.
Our everyday burdens us with promise or threat... still, between the endearment and curse,
love remains by far more constant than lovers are.
Shadows linger, blinding clear perception of the true and lasting that would be in each other... making all more doomed, the escape into lucid and poignant latitudes..
More than a shadow's journey from the other, is immensity, more than I can contemplate...
love remains by far more constant than lovers are.
Hope and a gradual peace to bring understanding is my only prayer for the unseeable future; that better times are not easily put aside so as to allow the underrated things in our lives to speak with greater and gentler command than passing wrath.
M.O.H.
We've known each other in ways wilful and insignificant yet, Love remains by far.. more constant than lovers are.

If we clearly speak love, instead of dancing around it, then would it not take on a solid form? If we work at love to ensure its foundation, would it not stay constantly steady? If we choose to fight our battles better, would the lover's not be as constant as the love? Beautiful expressions, Billy.
Smiles,

I don't know how one could possibly expect anything less than a poem that is absolutely gorgeous from you. There was so much feeling in this poem. Awful feelings that dragged out such sadness and beautiful feelings that coaxed out lovely thoughts. It was beyond wonderful and the message was so clearly written:
"love remains by far more constant than lovers are"
Such depressing yet true words.
If you happen to hear applause it's me (though you may actually be going a bit mad). Bravo! Breath-taking write! |

The aveance here, is so incediable. The lonely, feelings which are taking in, and pulled out with thoughts of happiness........even if there is seperation of the two. Distance , that consist of miles, make it seem far.............yet in the greater , its actually close.!
Beautiful, stunning write, this is.! Always, to see what one can create, and bring to life.

Billy, this is one of your best...A deeply moving and introspective write that will stand the test of time.
I like the repeated line throughout, and your use of italics in all the appropriate places.
That better times are not easily put aside
so as to allow the underrated things in our lives
to speak with greater and gentler command
than passing wrath
Very well done!

Powerfully and dramatically stated, and a gripping read. I am quite fond of repetition when properly done, and I liked it in this piece. Your lines are also deep and rich, requiring the full attention of the reader, as should be. Well done! One of your most broadly-encompassing to date, mayhap.

This poem envokes a lot of imagery and emotion; it seems a masterwork of expression. Phrasing such as "More remote than star from star," "the twisted knife of rational resignation," "More than a shadow's journey from the other," -- well, the phrasing of the poem is very much filled with clear and fresh word pictures. Really a marvelous read. |

Dearest Billy~
Whoa !! May I have my breath back now please?
A profound conviction lies within that one line repeated throughout.
Hopeless romantics might hint that it is laden with temerity, but I
think life experience and circumstance breed certain truths for us.
Each of our truths may not compliment or even agree with others'
truths, but that makes them no less real for us. The past, so unique
to each individual creates, not only lasting convictions but barriers
to a great many things. Truths, desires, fears, but most of all love.
And when we recognize this within ourselves, the possibilities for
us to overcome our hurdles, become endless.
I think this has to be one of your finest writes I have read. [I apologize
for not visiting here sooner]. I am completely floored by the sheer
audacity and astounding wisdom written here. And the emotion
that you've captured, well . . . it just (as I stated) takes my breath.
GOD! I relate to this. And relate well. Your briliance is only matched
by your tenacity of thought. You have much to be proud of here.
XO
~Breezy |
