Day of Reflection
There's days for fun and laughter There's days for shedding tears
And days like, this when we reflect Our lives, through out the years
I wish that I could say That I've done each day right
That I've got no regrets For the things within my life
But just like most, I contemplate How different things would be
If I'd said 'yes', or I'd said 'no', Or even just maybe
But when I take the time And weigh all things great and small
I guess there's not much I would change In my life, after all!

Great write, our decisions in life define who we are. There is no shoulda coulda woulda in my life. Being happy with yourself is so important and you wrote it so well............Mike |

Carolita, yeah you know I love this. It’s been ages since I last saw a poem from you and im not disappointed at all to see this one.
I love the simplicity of the poem; it speaks volumes for something really beautiful.
I loooooove this.

Lovely Carol
I do think your poem is pleasing to read...
It is so good to know that after all is said and done, that you wouldn't change anything!
Now that is pleasing too....
keep them coming ...

That I've got no regrets
For the things within my life
Yes, I pray as well, that what I have experienced was enough and that I will feel no shame that I could have done better, or more in my life.
*****If I'd said 'yes', or I'd said 'no',
Or even just maybe
I know I have felt this way on several accounts.
Yes, we do the best we know how and can do within our lifetime.
Wonderful expression to reflect our many challenges, eperience in our lifetime.

I have a feeling, dear Carol - that this is not as 'straightforward' as it looks on the page - or at least, if it is now... that perhaps the path to it wasn't perfectly linear. Of course, maybe... it is and maybe it was... maybe it was only myself that stumbled along... perhaps you arrived in that most precious place long before I did because you went directly from point A to point B while I took a few detours --- but regardless --- you must feel, I imagine, a sense of accomplishment at having arrived there!!!
Well done, Carol --- and... I've been missin' you about the place lately!
Just barely a half a step behind you on the path,
~Snemmy |

Now this was just excellent. You could tell this was just heavy with meaning, and I have to say that ending was a bit of a twist for me, because the way you went with the idea at first seemed as though you'd be regretting something, but the direction you took the write was splendid. I guess you could probably tell that I loved the ending the best in this write, as it's something I have to learn to do myself. The third-to-last couplet was also pretty ingenious of a rhyme too, there's so much good to be said about this one. Thanks for writing this one! |

Excellent poem. I've done some reflection too, lately. See: I Wonder, or Looking back, when you have time.
God bless. |
