Separation anxiety

Contributed by darkscorpio on Tuesday, 30th August 2005 @ 12:52:50 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You used to be the one I could tell all my fears to
You had the strength to make my pain and sorrow go away
As time went on we fell in love
I thanked god and the heavens above
That you rescued me from my darkened cell
Insecurity and internal hell
But 4 years ago, it all started to change
We both went in two directions, felt the love rearrange
Neglected each other, and drifted apart
Felt the pains of isolation, felt the cuts upon our heart
Now we are strangers, defensive and hurt
No love in our actions, talking tense and curt
And our beautiful son, sits and wonders why
His parents always argue, why mommie always cries
And I have no answers, just regret, and pain
As I trace back to my childhood, to the memories that remain
And I see my familys background staring me in the face
And the roles are now reversed, and my son is in the place
That I was when I was his age, and I am now a dad
Watching this through his eyes, makes me very sad

Very well written, I'm pretty sure everyone at some point has felt that way, some relationships aren't meant to be, but there's someone out there for everone so keep looking, and always know, there's someone who loves you, and wants you to love them back. Great job, keep it up.

I felt each word. Iv been through this minus the children part. Just love your child always if the child feels the love they will grow up secure in the meaning and knowledge of a parents love. I wish there was something I could do to make your pain less. This type of heartache tears one apart I know.
