the stars in the night sky
shine bright over the land
helping out from time to time
lending us a hand
the fates of all are painted there
for all the world to see
and they told me that you and i
were never ment to be
and now as i wonder around
not knowing where to go
i can feel them gloat
and say 'i told you so'
i was such a fool
to put my faith in you
not one thing you said
turned out to be true
they warned me again and again
but i didn't listen
and now i'm standing here
watching them glisten
i trusted you
i gave you my heart
but you were lying to me
right from the start
you strang me along
you never loved me
and yet when we were together
i felt safe and happy
but now i just feel hatred
anger, pain and sadness
you took everything away from me
my hope, my faith, my happiness
but at least
even on the darkest night
there are always
stars in sight
