i play to people
you see me both ways
and don't know
but
i hear the whispers
and snyde remarks
and wondering
i wear a mask of make-up
cha cha heels
and not much else
to entertain you
i'll do whatever
it takes
you tip
you watch
you look discontent
but
all along you call me a woman
a lady
but without the hair
and when the make-up
comes off
i'm my everyday person
not the every so often
freak
you normally think i am
i'm no longer the lady
just man
who wore a dress
just a humor
no longer your entertainment
but
a fool
you think you know so well
but
don't
you can't see
one from another
you see them
as one in the same
but
they night and day to me
alter egos
brought out for
entertaiment
and stage
