The Cowboy's Last Ride

Contributed by Kano on Thursday, 1st September 2005 @ 01:07:35 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

As he is sitting there all alone down in the dirt
Soaked with the mixture of blood and sweat on his shirt
For the first time in his life he thinks about giving it in
Yet he thinks, giving up this life is a terrible sin

With the presence of blood still trickling above his eye
He thinks to himself, that would be an incredible ride
He would write his own page in all of the history books
About the greatest of rides and the cowboy it took

Lifting up his hat he reveals a stone cold glare
Any cowboy that looked onto him knew to beware
They say a lion is the most ferocious just before he dies
And that old cowboy has that same look in his eyes

Adjusting his straps on his spurs he climbs to his feet
Turns around only for his eyes to lock on and meet
A bull that has never been ridden in any cowboy's career
The one that goes by the name of Copenhagen Dear

Staring eye to eye with that devil the cowboy just grins
And says, "with all the cowboy's and finals that you have been in
If that hook in the chutes is your only trick up your sleeve
Then you best start crying now because this final ride belongs to me"
