The Storm

Contributed by weepingprophet on Friday, 2nd September 2005 @ 09:52:38 PM in AEST
Topic: obsession

Gently, violent
The wind pulsing around me
Capture my heart
Take me away
A moment
Covered
In trees and lightening
And sitting without invitation
Is my own fault, my own recognition

The tear of ice cold rain
And subtle lies Ive told
Me Im someone else
Just staggering through the storm

And where is the strong armed man
The eyes not bleak or stark
Where is the gentle hand
The guided wounds
That trace my heart

Wrap me up
Im freezing now
Recollection is my last vow
A suicidal tendency
A single push for injury

Where is he now
Lungs collapse
Lost thirty nine pounds
And Im not looking back
Im beautiful he said
Im beautiful

Knees dig into dirt and concrete
This park is lonely past dusk
And empty like the bench behind me
Here are the scars, forever, to remind me
That life is a storm

Raging wind was you
The violence of everything we longed to do
Ice cold rain was our bliss
The torrid remembrance of our last kiss
The lightening so bright and stunning
The scare and the relief of its pass
somehow the memories outlast
The strong armed man
Eyes now bleak and stark
His gentle hand
Guiding wounds
To trace my heart

Wrap me up in the memory
Torn dress and blood on my knee
This is our let go
My hands cover the sacred beat
That we both have come to know

And the fragile bones that hold this person
In tact
Will snap when we look back
Well see that we knew all along
There would be an ending song

Leave me to the rage of the storm
Leave me withered here
Leave me and dont come back anymore
You have not graced this face with tears

Im beautiful
Im beautiful he said
Im beautiful
And just so beautifully dead

I loved the style of this. It was captivating, holding the reader in its grasp. Well done.
Take care.
David
