The sky was black, The night was dark, The moon had risen high, And all that moved this starry night, Was the phoenix in the sky.
Its body flame, Its eyes so dark, Its feathers as bright as the sun. Its wings were spread as high as the moon, Flying faster than a bullet from a gun.
I was, of course, The only one, Who saw this magic sight, I was flying through the treetops, Looking out across the night.
I didnt know, This fire bird, Was living a terrible lie, Fleeing from a terror, Was the phoenix in the sky.
Though fast approaching, Was the bad, The evil eagle black, It was searching for the phoenix, Wanting to get it back.
The eagle found, The eagle aimed, And rushed towards its prey, They collided with a massive bang, Making bright as light as day.
A piercing screech, Filled the air, Ashes fell from high Gone from sight forever Was the phoenix in the sky.
