Unwept Tears

This is a face that lies,
which hides the unwept tears
I've wished to cry.
Concealed behind a mask
that shall never be revealed
because it's my shield
against life,
what looks right,
what sounds right
but may not be right.
It's a shield against you,
all of the things you do
that can make me look like a fool.
I'm playing it safe.
This so called smile you will not break,
this mask you will not take
and use it against me
because my hurt you will not see,
my pain you will not see
and me crying
you will definetly not see.
The world has involuntarily painted a picture of me,
of being this tough girl,
without a care in the world
but do they see the rose in me,
with endless petals
falling down like the tears
Ive wished I cried.
Do they know my fears?
Do the even care
to try to understand?
I'm not the only one
who has lied.
I am not the only one
with tears I've never cried.
So don't look at me like that,
like things you may have been thinking
I just didn't ask,
Like I'm the only one here wearing
a mask!

| i know how you feel. you should read my latest poem "Untitled". i believe i have two named "untitled" but my latest should be on the top. good poem. |
