Untitled Confession

Contributed by InexactExactness on Thursday, 16th January 2003 @ 11:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

So close but so far
I feel I'm farther from the truth
I'm trying to find myself
And am unable to
I'm so two faced that it hurts
And I'm so indifferent to emotions
I'm completely devoid of feelings
Except when in the company of some
So I lie to everyone else
And therefore am only lying to myself
Making up my world
To be something that I know it's not
So hard to confront the truth
That I'm so confused about what I should do
When people make me who I am
I can't disappoint and let them down
I wish I could start out on a whole new field
I wish I could leave everything behind
I wish I could but I know that I can't
Because I'm still too naive to know
I'm tired of telling people I love them when I don't
I'm tired of caring for people who don't
It takes away from the essence of the meaning
The true feeling that I speak of when I tell the one
That I love them more than life itself
That I'd take them anywhere they'd want to go
That what I tell them will always be true
Because it's the truth behind what I feel
And the love won't be ruined or overused
Just because I feel like I have to say it
To others just to be polite and considerate
When I know that there isn't any need to be
It seems as though I'm so overused
I'm taken so lightly and always bruised
Because people want me to be this way
And I don't have the heart to push them away

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
