I kick a stone and see it go it takes a flight and hits the ground it rolls, and jumps a couple of times before it lays there still.
I walk up to it and take a good look; is it the same, that got hit? It could be another, but that doesn't matter. I kick the stone and off it goes, again.
(This is one of my old favorites. Hmm, let's see, how many of you drew parallel between us and the stone?)

The allusion is that we are the stone and nothing in us changes we just get kicked around. I hope that was not what you were trying to say |

Elaboration. We are like stones with our 'kicks' good/bad, happy/sad etc. Now from the kicker's point of view, it is quite impartial towards us, no favorites and no black sheeps, we are but humble stones in his/her eyes. Also no matter what kind of kick and how hard we are hit, we always achieve our composure, and we are kicked again. Mind you 'kick' here is not always a bad thing.
Thank you all for leaving comments here.
