Heartache Remembered

Heartache Remembered

Your face haunts my dreams again tonight.
Gracefully stareing at me with blissful eyes.
Instilling feelings of amour and adulation.
Reopening the heartbreak I tried so hard to suppress.

You stand prominently in a crowd of people.
Your smile luminating the darkness around you.
I cry out your name,
but it has no meaning to you
I try to walk to you,
but I can never catch you.

A thick fog starts to lurk its way over to me
as I run in your direction.
I frantically try to get out of its murky mist but it over comes me.
Your figure dissolves slowly in front of me as peer through the fog.
I try my hardest to get to you, but your gone

The alarm rings and wakes me from my dream.
Your face is fresh in my mind;
reviving an anguished heart.
Thousands of thoughts race through my head as I recall your face.
Years of pain and unrequited love return to aggravate my heart.
Reminding me of pain I thought I would never feel
and of love that I will never know.
