Full Plate

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Where should the praise
go if nothing's ever been
done?

Where to redeem the tickets
for the amusements void
of fun?

How long before the train
derails with no place left
to run?

How far is home sweet
home with that taste for
the gun?

What's left to fight for
when you're feeling so utterly
stunned?

What's over that rainbow if
the fear is never
undone?

Who's gonna pick up the
pieces after all the demons
have won?

Who's gonna hold the
pedestal now since you've
banished her from your
sun?

Why do the tears fall
so quickly when the rage
weighs a ton?

Why can't she try forgiveness
they say, but how can she
while mired in none?

When does her faith return
or is it lost like her prodigal
son?

When can she smile at all
she sees and not glance
in her mirror and only
shun?
