let me bear your pain tonight
and take away your tears
because the sadness in your eyes
weighs heavy on my heart
and my words of love you cannot hear
see yourself through my eyes
and know your worth
let me bestow upon you
the wings i gave you at your birth
i carried your cross
so you would not have this heavy burden
if you'd only let me love you
and not let my sacrifice go to waste
so let go of all those past tragedies
and have faith in me
in your life you may falter
but it will never let you fall
and i feel your every injury for it is also is my own
and every tear you cry
is multiplied in my eyes a hundred times over
and every time your broken heart beats in pain
it tears my heart asunder
so let not my blood be shed in vain
i tell you , cry no more
let me bear your pain
after all
what else did i die for?

not a fan of religion here (to each their own), like the second last verse though --> its applicable to everyone and nicely written.

Wow! I can't believe I just read a religious poem :P
Nevertheless, this is well portrayed, personal, and emotive. It lends some insight to the reader as well with your creative expression. Nicely done.
