High in a corner of my dusty old barn An ugly old spider spins hair-strand yarn;... An intricate design, quickly spit from his head,... Then, watches intently, so still, as if dead. How does he do it? and why?... by chance??? Does he wait for fair fairies to spring on it in dance? No! He waits for his dinner, ..a crunchy young fly!... Its the fly that he sees although cattle pass by. His world is his web, hanging there in his corner; He's out of harm's way and he's causing no bother. Makes no difference to him when I come to the barn; He's watching his web of bright silvered yarn.
