Burning Hell

Contributed by remote on Saturday, 24th September 2005 @ 07:57:14 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

They captured you
and wanted to get
something out of you
to which you had no clue
The torturer took out a zippo
and put the flame to your ear
you screamed and screamed
I could do nothing
just watch, all helpless
I could see the fright in your eyes
and the tears rolling down
struggling violently
to break your bind
He then torched your hair
the fire spread
and your face was on fire
It was just too much
for you to take
and I saw you die
you had that grotosque look
that only dead can have
with all the pain and fright
frozen in my mind forever
No words spoken
all this took place
just a couple of minutes
but seemed like
a very very long time.
Tears in my eyes
I tried to close my eyes
for there was nothing else
that I could do.

(Probably I had this nightmare because a lady I know is now living in Bangladesh and I recently read Taslima Nasrin's Lajja, it had some graphic description of muslim extremists torturing foreigners, its not a nice book, I got bored about half way through it)

the obscure meaningless imagery of dreams all rather bizarre. why share your dreams if we all decided to share our dreams this site would be called www.yourDREAMS.com ha ha

Don't you just hate those vivid dreams? They seem so real like and stay with you all day and sometimes the next. But, whew! It was only a dream.

#1. Excellent write. Sounds like a horrifying book and the subconcious dealing with it during dreamtime which keeps us sane. Primal fear is dealt with by normal people through dreams.

#2. Jusasman needs to get over himself. This is a poetry site and what the eff does he think poetry is? Poetry is about the real feelings of people who put them into word form of rhyme or prose and post for others to read. He must just concoct BS for posting and not honest heartfelt writes. I pity him.

Blessings,
Dove

  • Wow, very vivid stuff here.

    Mind you; I found the word "Burning" in the title, a bit redundant at first;
    but as I went along through the poem itself;
I could see that it wasn't,
and that it actually signified quite a couple of things. :D

Hrm, I'm sure you're pretty grateful that it was only
    a nightmare after all..
    --- sounds horrendous.

    Nicely executed, once again!
