in chains
bound together to walk ur plank
spit in your face
defiance, acts of bravery, for our love
control, attention
its all you wanted
but we defy you, can't deny you
we're breaking away
some days we yield
so we don't ruin your plans
but i have my own ideas for my life
to be free
we do defy you, won't deny you
i could wait in his captivity
for all time
but sometimes...
well, u kno
afraid of gettin caught, wary of us together
he won't change it for me
won't help me be free, make me be free,
i will change this for me
but first i must change it for you
break free of my chains, being a prisoner
i should defy you, or deny you
freedom comes to those who live
in america
