Horizons In Our Eyes

There is a world unknown to treading feet, A home to the sun, And refuge to the night, Where the stars and horizon come to meet.
Unreachable by those who know its place, As far as they stride, As long as they chase, Forever in time, will their sailing ships race.
It is neither boundary nor space, Not a mark upon maps, Or residence to the clouds, But a porous sponge
For light to spend its days.
Eyes of many rest upon the sight An endless abyss of flowing orange And the bittersweet tantalizing night As if the citrus erupted from the fruit And blinded those who taste
The twilights vivid bite.
Submerging below the sea of soil The sun takes heed to the warnings Of which the horizon so boldly speaks:
You may come again, pursuing the night You may rise forever, tomorrow and the next, But I am seen, before you climb For I am the gateway to your light
There is a world of infinite land, Beyond the coasts and past the sand, Where the sky meets the Earth And the stars will come to birth.
Forever is the sight, And never will it die
For the horizons in our eyes.
