No Room For The Needy

Contributed by Echoes on Wednesday, 28th September 2005 @ 06:33:11 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Witness the tumbling down
of lifes maddening go around.
Feel icy edges of the devils rage
clawing to collect their prey.

Smell the sickening bile
of too many lives wasted,
forgotten and tucked away
inside memories without escape.

Taste bitter agony
on the tongues
of broken-winged angels who have
fallen from the throne of grace.

Sense love emptying
out of this hollow room
as echoes of laughter fade
from this dreadful place.

Hear the hum of hunger
wailing outside the window
as the thump of anger waits
on the ledge to be born.

Feel wanton hearts
grow thin and weary
as meek ones fall even further
and are left cut and bleeding.

Sense the strong
growing more greedy
as lifes drumbeat drones
on and on and on

There is no room for the needy.

2004 Lisa Arnold

This is a very good and honest write.

"Give me your tired your poor
your huddled masses yearning to be free"

unfortunately those words are the dream of very few and that is why the world is the way it is today.
