Sometimes things just happen in a way I can't comprehend
Still, knowing this doesn't make it easier to understand
Is there any reason for the suffering I've endured
But I looked to the Book to be reassured
I understand living a lie is not an option anymore
I must first find my heart, even though it's not what it was before
And then I can begin to understand the things I've missed
And still have so much to learn, but it's worth the risks
I am finally ready to become a man
I now know I can find where I stand
Because I am left with the three things we're all gifted
And finally realize why love is the one to be lifted

I am impressed! I can almost taste the aquired wisdom behind this piece. It sounds like life has taught you much. There are few things better than learning the things life has to teach, I think.
Well written, eloquent and simple styling, which fits your poem perfectly.
