Yesterday was happiness,
Contentment, peace and joy.
Delighting in my lovers arms.
So glad I was her boy.
But storm clouds began hovering.
The lightning strikes were fierce.
It felt much like an arrow would,
If it my heart did pierce.
For a moment in my wretched life,
I would long for what had been.
But back now in my lovers arms,
Its yesterday again!
