I'll Lose a Friend if You Should Go Away

Contributed by Archie on Thursday, 13th October 2005 @ 12:11:44 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

(Verse 1)
I know I may not be your kind of person.
I don't do everything perfectly.
Of what to say to you I am uncertain.
I only hope that you will not leave.

(Chorus)
We need your words of encouragement to heal us.
We need your devotion to help us
find a way to reach our betterment.

We need your guiding hand to show our mess ups.
There are some of us who listen.
We'll lose a friend if you should go away.

(Verse 2)
I know you have been down these last few days.
I know my words will not help your hurt change.
I just wanted to let you know I'm here to listen.
If you need someone to lend a listening ear.

(Chorus)
I need your smile to lift my burdened spirits
I need your hope to help me to not give up
and to know that betterment can be achieved.

We need your guiding hand to show our mess ups.
There are some of us who listen.
We'll lose a friend if you should go away.

(Bridge)
I know I don't know you all that well.
Maybe I am who you speak of
when you say that you're hurt

I know that sorrows come to all.
and trespasses do make us fall.
What will it take to make you smile again?

(Chorus)
We need your words of encouragement unto us.
A heart that won't throw the towel in on us
and truth to help us find a way to change.

We need your guiding hands to show our mess ups.
There are some of us willing to listen.
We'll lose a friend if you should go away.

I'll lose a friend if you should go away.

Well, I knew I liked the subject right away : )

This is a fine dedication to a fine young lady, and poet. I'm sure Jen will be touched by your kind words in this song. I like the personal touch with the last line especially. You're right. There's more than a few of us that would be deeply saddened if E9 left here. Even if she no longer posts, Jen will always be warmly welcomed here, as far as I and those who count are concerned. Very nice Archie. Thoughtful.

Scorp.

A fine tribute to a fine poetess who has touched our lifes in a lot of ways. I hope she hears your pleas my dear friend and I hope she hears mine. I know she no longer posts, but she's always welcome here with open arms. I hope things work out for Jen.
A touching song written for the talented and gifted Jen.
*heartfelt hugs*

Archie:

Thank you for writing this poem, I pray it will keep your friend with us.. and all of us together...

Essentially_9, I asked you to stay once, right?, and you did, so I thank you. Huggs....

I was not here at YPDC for very long Archie, when I saw the caring comments that __9 wrote for us all to learn by, and I did learn a lot.. She is indeed much needed, as are all of you. And Archie, and the gang, I love you all.. thank you for being here for me, for sometimes I am not always the healthy old lady I would love to be... and without this YPDC joint, and all your prayers, you just don't truly know how much you have helped me... there is much love here..

Yes Essentially _9, you are much needed here..hugs jen..
Hugs, Archie..

Archie...
It's a most profound and touching ode
to someone half the people here know
nothing about..

Jen is one of the most talented and mindful
poets I've ever had the pleasure of reading..

I only wish again to read something..ANYTHING
of hers again here..

"Jen...if ya readin' this, I'm missing your work"

Sincerely,

Billy
