Shipwrecked

Contributed by Redhotchilichic on Thursday, 13th October 2005 @ 05:56:15 AM in AEST
Topic: fictional

Cutting through the waters so blue
The funnel suddenly blew
A cloud of smoke up in the air
While on board the passengers
Were dancing, talking
Having their share of laughs

On the dance room floor
The shifting shafts of light
Made an elegant sight
And the people danced on into
The night

Little did the passengers know
That their delight would soon
Turn into fright
As they danced on into
The night

As the ship headed towards its plight
The watchman did not sight
The reef that would cause
So much grief

Closer now than they were before
The watchman could make out the vague outline
Of the shore
They were almost there when he suddenly saw
A sharp piece of reef
The watchman stood in disbelief
He ran to tell the captain
But it was too late to stop

It was a shock when the ship made contact
It rocked with the impact
The passengers were thrown here and there
Like one of those rides at a country fair

The crew rushed to get the life boats but it was too late
The ship and her passengers were to meet their fate
With a loud rumble the ship began to sink
And before people could even think

It exploded in a ball of light
And settled on the bottom of the ocean
In the middle of the night

I'm told that the wreck is still there
But not to go down unless I want a scare
For I'm told it is a gruesome sight
To see the long dead passengers
Dance on into the night
