drop down below the sorrow
find a way to end this pain
my solution creates illusions
playing tricks on my brain
so that for a moment
i forget i care
but honestly,
i hate this game
strangers and passersby stare
unaware of my internal disdain
focusing on a flawless exterior
failing to notice i'm drowning in pain
the struggles within
have brought me here again
this time i think i'll stay
because it's easier to pretend

this poem relates to me, with the hidden problems i have, i hide all of them by putting on a mask, and only very few people know my true stuggles.

I have friends exactly like that....and to some extent, I'm like that myself, not so much with inner pain...just a lot below the surface that I choose to conceal.
