Child Abuse

Contributed by HiddenAngel on Friday, 14th October 2005 @ 09:15:14 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

The abused child
The silent, broken angel
Wings violently rendered by human evil
Hollow eyes
Guarded face
Desperate yearning for love
Bruises hidden by lace
In the depths of a tormented soul
An innocent life is
Extinguished

its been a while since ive read a poem written this way, and what i mean by that is no real transitional words between lines. i did like this though, especially the beginning and last two lines. so very true, tragically.

extinguished is such a hard word as someone who has had one hell of a hard life i brought myself to understand that what i experienced is not normal and from that i learnt to live a better life as long as i am nothing like my family
sorry i survived i hope more people can

I like the simplistic nature of this poem. It saddens me that abuse happens.
