When does the part of the honest man fade When does the point drive itself into your brain And what will you take from me my young love And where will you hide when the winds follow you home
When the branches of the trees grab you as you are running Where the avalanches from the mountain fall on you tumbling
And where can I find you when the sunshine has faded And who will be the one left standing in the rain naked When shelter is scarce and the food frozen rendered uneatable When laughter is banned and happiness thrown from the window
And what will you take from me this time my young love And whose arms do you swing from tonight my sweet love
I saw a movie where the bad ones made it I witnessed the murder where the younger son fainted I drew it, and thought it, and masked it, and painted it I loved it, and held it, until it bit me, until I hated it
I sense that a change has been forever forgotten That a rearrangement of lives has been ignored and rewritten When the peacefulness sets in my soul I will keep it When it begs me to let it go, I will never release it, or appease it
And what would you have me do this time my young love And what should I have said to make it stop pouring from above
And where will the books which taught us theses truths be burned So that I can partake, and rape, and plunder the literature concerned
So that I can feel it, and smell it, and touch it, and be it When I see it, I will know it, and respect it, and need it Forever indebted, and departed, I am free to love it As you are free to call yourself a lover, a singer, or honest

This write is fantastic jyss...It has a profound-type maturity to it. A wise, but scorned soul reflecting with bittersweet emotions.
It's melancholy, and some of the words sting, as they should, yet you still don't stoop down to that person's level. Very well done. I love it.

I like the way you have expressed yourself in this poem. By the sound of your words you live in a harsh reality. I look at your poem and I see a person who questions whether he needs to change or not. It is perfectly presented. The choice of change always falls on the shoulders of who it is presented to, use it wisely. |
