Why are we encouraged to cheat death
But not allowed to cheat life?
What is it about peace
That makes it more preferable than strife?
Why is the color white
Infinitely better than black?
What does this lighter element have
That the darker one seems to lack?
So then, should we seek a balance
Between these feuding two, say,
That maybe we mix some from both together
And find ourselves surrounded in gray.

It reminds me of the saying that 'One should experience enough sadness in life to be able to truly appreciate the happy things'. I agree with that. If we are cheating death, are we not cheating life as well?? This is an introspective poem, and no doubt thought-provoking for many. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to YPDC!

I love it questions of life that everyone has may not be the same questions but we all have them such as why is there sadness why is there happiness why is there brightness from the sun then other days clouds of darkness. wich is one thing i love this poem it opens you up to questions and makes you think great great poem
