i know i tore your heart out
and threw it on the floor
but come on-- it's not like
i've never done that trick before.
i'm a jerk, it's true--
a b*tch (an insensitive one, too)
but hey, what can ya do.
so why are you so surprised
and for like the fifth or fiftieth time, too?
so, good buddy, quit being p*ssed--
there's something quite funny here (that maybe you missed).
and i know you'll forgive me, just like last time
(and the fifty times before)
'cause all i have to do is smile and promise
that i won't do it anymore.
'cause that's my function-- the process i learned--
to burn and keep burning, lest i too be burned
sorry you got caught up in the flames...
(and had your heart thrown on the floor)
but hey, good buddy, what are friends for.
