How Could She - Dedicated to Little Zeke

Contributed by jilted on Friday, 28th October 2005 @ 12:58:38 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I'm trying to say something
Words can not express
Because there are no words
That make sense of this horrible mess

What would make a mother
Do that to those innocent kids
They had their whole lives ahead of them
A little girl and boy, just 4 and 6

In a drug fuelled raging frenzy
She claimed two beautiful lives
This cold hearted killer
Didn't deserve the unconditional love that comes from a child

Its happened many times before
We'v all heard of these tragedies
But this time it feels different
Because it affects people close to me

You see, my sisters partner
Was the father of the 6yr old boy
Who's life was cruelly taken away
Like he was nothing but a toy

So what do I say to the father
Who is daddy to my unborn neice
His son and her big brother
May he rest in peace

I try not to think about
What was going through their little heads
Mummy why are you doing this
We love you, why do you want me dead

Everytime I think about it
It makes me feel physically sick
That sick and twisted being
Should've been her throat that got slit

DEDICATED TO LIL ZEKE.

***I recall a line from my favourite movie, The Crow. It goes... "Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children". It's so true and so sad, so many people in the world dont deserve the gift of having a child.

My sisters partner had a 6 yr old child to an ex-partner. His ex also had a child from another relationship, a little girl who was three. This woman brutally murdered both children then proceeded to try to kill herself but she did not succeed before police arrived. She had been drunk and taking drugs. For a long time I have despised this woman, what she did is and should be unfathomable. Now, tho i can not forgive or forget what she has done, I feel truly sorry for her. As it turns out she had a serious mental illness that authorities new about, god only knows why the children where left in her care. Just 2 days before she comitted these atrocities she had begun to hear vil voices'that told her to do horrible things, she was also suffering from psychotic episodes, she new she and the people around her were in danger, she went to the mental health clinic to see her counsellor and said that she needed to be hospitalised but she was turned away, her friends did the same, telling mental health authorities that she posed a dangerous threat to herself and those around her but still nothing was done. It is truly disgusting how the system has failed her, her children and their families. it shouldnt have come this far, the authorities had plenty oppurtunity to remove those kids from danger.

...we live in a sick society...this poor soul was emotionally ill, but at least she knew she was sick and tried to get help. I've heard it said, "No one is so sick as the one who doesn't know he is sick."

In the US of A, you know, the nation under God...it is economically feasible to provide health care for individuals like this woman, but a sick majority is willing to follow a sick president, one who believes tax cuts for the wealthy supercedes caring for the sick and needy among us who are unable to help themselves. That is sick and they are proud of it. They don't even know they are sick.

So who is the sickest among us? The woman with diseased emotions who sought help, or President Bush and the majority of those Americans under God?

We are a sick nation...

I hope healing is your part...

Bless you,

Ron...enigma
