The diamond sits in ice surrounding Thick as steel, cold as glass The diamond sits and stares
My nails scratch the enduring flesh My tears burn its unblemished facade My arms wrap its cold embrace
I want to understand, I want to touch I want to warm I want to comfort
Maybe Im being selfish using diamonds to replace Inner turmoils and problems with a distraction I cant replace
I want to be able to hold
The hot tears run

...you captured the pain...twelve years and she grew farther and farther away...Santana's song with the lyrics, "give me your heart, make it real, or just forget about it..."
"...cold as glass," "Thick as steel," "diamond sits in ice," "cold embrace," "I want," "I want," "I want," "I want," "I want..." These phrases worked right in to me...
Your poem nicely distills what it would take ten thousand words to describe...
Good job
