|
no one could find us here
we were the lucky ones...you see
my brethern and I
we were able to escape
destruction from this hellacious sea
when the bombs were dropped
we were in our earth shelter
we all remained safe
while radiation filled the air
fresh oxygen tanks
sustained us down here
surfaced when all was safe
saw what was left
after the humans were done
total destruction
no cities did stand
maybe that's what
was needed to be done
to get back our sacred land
begin all over
back to whence it all began
learned from prior mistakes
now let's treat Her with
the respect she deserves
be one family
once again

Maybe that's what will eventually have to happen...Scientists are predicting that. The irony of progress spelling our ultimate doom...Good spillage of thoughts here Laura. I'm happy to see you posting again.

Brilliant write! I loved this poem. Yes, isn't it sad that humans are the most destructive and wasteful creatures on this planet.
