This can not be life

Contributed by SeanMcHaney on Saturday, 29th October 2005 @ 04:19:09 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The child breaths its dying breath,
Looking into its mothers eyes,
In agony watching as her child dies,
She screams, This can not be life!
This can not be life!
All the good you have yet to do,
All the strife yet to go through,
Instead your mother will burry you!

The soldier holds her comrades arm,
An explosion left them ripped and torn,
Fighting death with a bloody broken form,
She screams, This can not be life!
This can not be life!
There is too much hate,
So little love to date,
How can we die to this fate!

The mother sits alone in her room,
An open bible on the floor,
And like a knock upon the door,
She sings, This was not my life!
This was not my life!
I know played the whore
But I was meant for so much more,
And you died for the child that you adore!

The soldier opens her weary eyes,
The carnage gone she has survived,
Then she hears how salvation arrived,
She sings, This was not my life!
This was not my life!
I was lost how could this be,
That I was saved for fee,
Because my Lord died for me!
