Why did this ever have to be so cold
Imagine finding out youd lose control
You see Im breaking down and now I crumble
You cant help by sitting there watching me stumble
And now I fight against the grain
Im running out of time
Im breaking up inside
And I think I cant survive
Reflect on yesterday
These memories wont fade
But this still wont go away
Your life...
Retreats...
Your losing out...
On every..
Your Life.. Retreats..Youre missing out
On peace of mind now..
Just dont close your eyes
Theres nothing left of me to go
Dont you realize
That its taking me away
Its like breaking apart at the seams
And I wish it were all a dream
But this still wont go away
We cant... See through
This curtain that blinds us all
If we... realize
Whats behind closed doors
Break me free from all these restraints
These shackles come undone
Set me free from all of this pain
Before I come undone
Your better off just to pretend
Well I cant stand by and watch you
As you waste away
I cant stand watching now as you fall to pieces this time
Above the insanity that seems to cloud your mind
Its the last try
Youve given up and its taken it all away
Its the last time
You said this time you could turn and walk away
But you dont care and you dont think
Is this how it has to be
Is that why you cannot see
And I offer you my hand
To guide you once again
For the first time Ive opened my
My eyes wide
Blindly I swear that I
Have past through this
A thousand times before
Could you bleed me dry of those tears
Could you make up for all the lost in years
This frustration keeps me clear
But still we dont see the light of the day
So far from this bleak existence
We will find ourselves again
Do you think were losing out
Long before ever grabbing hold of that dream
Got my eyes wired shut

...such universal pathos...I've been there, parts of me still are, I'm sure...
...you might want to research "attachment theory..." it all happens before the brain is developed sufficiently to record the data...
