Pat yourself on the back Youre destroying her She wants you to seek help But you know better
Pat yourself on the back Youve made her feel used She knows too well How it feels to be abused
Pat yourself on the back Youre a champ at drinking beer Every time you start at the pub The guys give you a loud cheer
Pat yourself on the back Youve done well The bruises on her body Have their own story to tell
Pat yourself on the back The children fear you If they tick you off You beat them black and blue
Pat yourself on the back Youre doing what your father used to You swore youd never be like him But youre doing everything you saw him do

Wow, there is a very good lesson in this poem. Well done! I need to read more of your work... I am sure many would be able to identify with this poem.
Welcome to YPDC..
