That gives courage
To face any circumstance in life
When I see a black woman
Like Rosa Parks who wasnt afraid to a make
A difference. That helps me to move on with life.
They dont treat us right because
We black but what they dont know is
Our color stands for courage,
Love, patience and confidence
Rosa Parks showed the light
We should continue to walk
Head up like she did.
For us sometimes life is a battle
But we will win no mater what.
Because Im black that dont mean
I cant speak my mind
Because Im black that dont mean
I cant make a difference in society
Because Im black I dont have to
Stay on my spot
Im proud to be black and because
Im black I walk with my head up not down.

color has many meanings in life. The black people have had many of sorrow to bear at the hands of white slavery. I cannot talk for the past of my ansestory for I wasn't there. Today in the present, I can say that color is all the races to me. I am glad you are proud of who you are. I just say that its ok to say what you say, but now in the present, I like all colors of all peoples, all have it to be proud. Its a shame that history had to make things bad to see the light to make it good for the future, at an expense that hurt the color of a people who should not have had to be treated as such. I can only go forward to see all folks as equal, not in race, color, sex, or thier oriantation. NOt everyone sees it this way, but it should be. Then color would not be an issue as in being better, but more so being just who you are, and not see what color you are. Your write brings forth a personal feeling of who you are. its nice to see this as sometimes its a subject many will not touch. Good write.

I for 1 found Rosa Parks a very respectable woman, I am a simple white 18 year old girl and Parks is 1 of my greatest heros. You are an awasome writer and you stand for what you believe in, never bow your head and always write what you mean to say.

| I'm not sure if this poem is more self justification or slef glorification.. either way it comes across as patronising. Just my opinion. Rosa Parks was a good woman though... |

Great write yes be proud of your heritage. "Black is Beautiful"
You write this as a black woman,but I see you more as another American "same as me" People are people and I see all peoples as American first then-------- African French German Irish etc etc etc.
We all come from different nationalties,but are American first--then French American, Afro American etc etc.
Please keep writting as you have much to offer.
A White brother--American first--lets better our country together.
