the landlady

Contributed by Jan_Oskar_Hansen on Wednesday, 22nd January 2003 @ 08:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The conscience

The landlady is in the hall cleaning floors, ten
days late with the rent I'll have to wait till she's
going in to her flat. Shes near my door, if she
knocks I'll pretend to be asleep and if she
persists I' tell her that I've got a job working
nights and that I'll pay her as soon as I get paid.
She has gone in to her own flat now bet she's
keeping her door ajar listening for my steps on
the creaking staircase. Hang it all this place hasn't
got a fire escape, only a long rope by the attic's
window. I'm going to report her to however is in
charge, this is a firetrap and I've no booze or fags,
my cupboard is full of empties, can't carry them out
in a plastic bag, she will hear the clanking noise.
All is quiet, perhaps she's gone out, plays bingo
everyday, spending my rent money gambling.
Bloody woman, she's full of money, why should
I pay her my hard earned?
